We recently attended a terraced property on behalf of Chelton Brown a letting agent client in Northampton on behalf of one of their landlords.
The property was a terraced house with no rear access and the fence had been demolished by recent winds. This property brought a few challenges, not only due to the access but because of the incline to the garden plus the fence line was on top of an old brick wall! The property was sheeted up to protect the carpets so we could carry materials and waste through the house.
As there was an incline to the garden we had to step the fence to ensure the panels were level, kicker boards and different lengths of posts were used, this was to make sure that 2ft remained below ground which was then sunk in postcrete. This gives the fence added strength.
This was a long hard day, especially digging through concrete, brick and clay! Considering the challenges we had before us we were pleased with the results, the tenant said “You boys are so fast, I can’t believe you’ve dug through that…..it looks fantastic! You’ve been so tidy as well, thank you very much.”
